9. License is valid for 90 days and should be filed with the county by your minister or officiant soon after the ceremony occurs.

If you'd prefer to fill out a marriage license application form before driving to the county office, the form's link is below.

Caution: It's an old style Adobe PDF form which allows you to fill it out and print copies, but unfortunately it does not allow you to save the file after filling it out. Therefore please proof-read carefully and print it out before closing the form on your computer.

Marriage ceremonies can also be performed by the clerk outdoors on the steps of Auburn's historic courthouse at 101 Maple Street in Auburn. The location is absolutely beautiful but there is a severe limitation imposed on how many guests can attend the ceremony. The clerk wants to keep attendance small on those steps "for insurance reasons."  Alte

Sacramento's hours of operation vary by office so call (916) 874-6131 to confirm details.

Yes, we do photograph ceremonies at the clerk's office. Downtown Sacramento has a small ceremony room that holds about 30 people.

Most customers who have a ceremony performed at the clerk's office like to have their family portraits photographed afterwards (outdoors at nearby Old Sac is a favorite place) followed by a reception or dinner.

*Downtown Sacramento augments their budget by handing out parking tickets whenever possible. You or your guests may receive parking tickets costing more than the ceremony. I had an expired meter whlie attending a compiter class downtown, it cost me $66.
