Our Style of Photography...

Doug's style of photography

...is 85% photojournalistic
+ 15% classic poses

Here's why:

We LOVE to take pictures, and take a BUNCH of them to record your memories forever. Most photos are unplanned, spontaneous shots as events unfold.

We do feel a small number of specific "formal" family poses should also be included. -- To capture the most important family members together in pictures.

(Sometimes weddings are the ONLY chance to get family members together in a photo!) But we promise, no corny poses --- just the basics.

Great example of a family "formal" group shot. Hilary and Zack photographed in lobby of church they were married at -- Grace Church in Rocklin, California. Above pic is the groom's sister's family which includes two recent adoptions. Groom's sister is married to the church's pastor (right end of the group) who also conducted the wedding ceremony.

Above: This goofy out-take was actually the photographer's lighting test before taking the "real" photo.

We hope the reader can see that professionally posed family group shots are very much worth doing!
Today's trendy, free-wheeling "photojournalistm" style of wedding photography sometimes misses the mark on these.
